Vector Hyllus

captainderyn:

I love the bug boy, okay? It might be a problem and I need to make another agent to romance him because I’ve heard its really cute and sweet. I already have cavities from the interactions between him and Era as a strictly seemingly-friends level (of course then taken and run with by my headcanons but I digress).

Reblogging because there is never enough Vector Hyllus on my dash.

Well … that’s a weird glitch …

So, my newest Imperial agent is on Hoth and just met up with Admiral Davos and the rogue recovery agents, where you’re sent into what is effectively an ambush.

Admiral Davos orders his men to torture me to find out what I know and then kill me. The cutscene ends, I am briefly treated to the sight of all the NPCs turning red as they prepare to attack, and then … I lag, or something.

The lag (or whatever) ends, and all the enemy NPCs are lying dead on the ground, with Vector Hyllus standing over them with his electrostaff in hand. He just looks at me and says “Are you well?”

That’s not unsettling at all, Vector. Thank the stars you’re on my side.

The hardest part of playing Two Truths and a Lie in a story is researching the truths and making up the lies. Especially when one of the characters involved:

* is the son of the Grand Master of the Jedi Order AND the Supreme Commander of the Republic Military (who was raised by a Jedi Master and drummed out of the Order at 13 because he wasn’t Force-sensitive)

* is a former swoop-bike racer on the Manaan pro-circuit

* has killed two Dark Council members and destroyed two Imperial super-weapons

* is the ancestor of Revan (and Bastila Shan, but nobody ever cares about that – poor Bastila!)

* stole a Black Codex directly from the Minister of Logistics office on Ziost

* was one of the two people who initially uncovered the Revanite conspiracy

Never mind that the other two people playing this game are the man who single-handedly negotiated a treaty of alliance between a hive-minded insectoid alien species and the Sith Empire, and the woman who dismantled a centuries-old galaxy-spanning conspiracy. At some point you have to sit back and go, “Okay, what’s a believable lie here? More importantly … what’s a believable truth?!?”

After writing a particularly dark and heavy scene, I’m torn between following up with some more darkness or trying to take things in a fluffier, lighter direction (without disrupting the narrative). Honestly cannot decide. *ponders*
